The 11-year-old boy was from south-eastern Ukraine. Where the Russian army captured it only last week. Because of this, his parents asked him to leave. The boy’s parents have also stayed in Ukraine to care for their ailing relative. Even after such a difficult journey, there was determination and redness of smile on the face of the boy. Slovakia’s interior ministry even described the boy as “last night’s biggest hero” in a post on Facebook.
According to reports, the boy’s mother had put him on a train to send him to his relatives living in the capital. During this, he was carrying a plastic bag, a passport and a note with a message. When the boy reached Slovakia, the authorities present there were able to contact his relatives living in the capital Bratislava with the help of notes and numbers found from him. The boy’s mother thanked the Slovak government and the police for taking care of the child. After his arrival in Slovakia, volunteers took care of him and provided him with food.
