Patna . In Bihar’s Gaya district, two women, including an Anganwadi worker, were killed and another injured when a village man protested for allegedly molesting the niece of a deceased on Saturday. The deceased women have been identified as Sushila Devi (45) and Kuman Devi (35), residents of Akoni village under Khiraj Sarai police station area.
Police said they staged a protest against a man named Mukesh Paswan, who had allegedly molested Sushila’s niece on Saturday.
Sushila’s husband Gaya Paswan said, the accused molested the girl and tried to rape her. However, the girl managed to escape from the spot and narrated her ordeal to her aunt. Sushila went with Kuman to Devi Paswan’s house and there was a fight.
Gaya Paswan said, Paswan and his brothers attacked Sushila and Kuman with sharp weapons. He was stabbed several times before we could come to his rescue. My brother also got injured in the process.
We took him to the primary health center at Khiraj Sarai, where doctors referred him to Magadha Medical College, Gaya, he said. Both died on their way to Gaya.
Investigating Officer S.K. Mandal said, “We have registered an FIR based on the statement of the victim’s husband. An investigation is on to nab the absconding accused. The situation in the village is extremely tense. We have deployed adequate police force to bring the situation under control. has done.”
