Bangalore. A 4,000 kg sword is being installed at the 108-feet tall Kempe Gowda statue in the premises of the Bengaluru International Airport.
The statue is being installed in the 23-acre heritage park, which is being developed in the airport premises named after the founder of Bengaluru city, Kempe Gowda.
The statue is being planned to be one of the major attractions of the airport. Travelers to and from Bangalore will have an architectural viewing experience. Talwar arrived in a special truck from New Delhi to Bengaluru on Monday.
CN Higher Education Minister Ashwath Narayan expressed happiness over the arrival of the sword and participated in the puja program.
The statue is being constructed at a cost of Rs 85 crore. The statue is being constructed under the supervision of Padma Bhushan award winning architect Ram Sutar of Noida.
