Bengaluru. Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, when the police raided the premises of a goldsmith in Karnataka’s Bellary city, they were surprised to see the things found there. Police seized Rs 5.60 crore in cash, 3 kg gold, 103 kg silver jewelery and 68 silver bars from this goldsmith.
Police said that along with recovery of cash worth ₹5.6 crore, gold and silver bars and jewelery worth crores were also recovered. Their total cost is around Rs 7.60 crore.

According to the police, a huge amount of cash and jewelery has been recovered from the house of jewelery shop owner Naresh. Police said, he has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.

Police suspect some Hawala link in this case. A case has been registered in this matter under Section 98 of the Karnataka Police Act. Police said the findings of the investigation will be sent to the Income Tax Department for further investigation.
