The country’s leading automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to launch the next generation model of its famous SUV Mahidra Scorpio in the domestic market. For a long time, this SUV has been spotted on different occasions during testing, in which many pictures have been revealed from its exterior to interior. Now claims are being made in media reports about its features.
If reports are to be believed, the new Scorpio will get features like 6 airbags, sunroof as well as terrain modes. The testing model was completely camouflaged, which has revealed very little about its exterior design. It is being told that the new Scorpio will be bigger in size than the current model.
Features like LED headlamp-taillamp, turn signal, 360-degree camera system, dual zone automatic climate control, push button engine start/stop will be given in it. The company will also make major changes in its interior, it will be given a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be equipped with connected car technology. It will get a regular sunroof, and will position the new model between the XUV700 and XUV300 in the market.
The new Mahindra Scorpio will be offered in the market with both 7 seater and 6 seater layouts. The second row of its six-seater model means that captain seats will be given in the second row. On the other hand, the traditional bench seat will be included in the 7 seater model. This new seating arrangement will help make the cabin more spacious and comfortable.
As far as the engine is concerned, it will be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The same petrol engine is also given in Mahindra Thar. The company can tune the diesel engine in two different power, its lower variant generates 130 bhp and the higher variant generates power of 160 to 170 bhp.
