Khandwa (Representative of New Zealand). 6176 sterilization operations have been done in the district in ten months. Ten of these operations were unsuccessful. After the information, the District Quality Assurance and Implementation Committee investigated these cases. In seven out of these ten cases, information was given within three months. Therefore, they were allowed to have abortions according to the rules. In three cases, permission for abortion was not granted due to delayed information. According to the rules, in such cases it is necessary to inform the committee within three months. District Health Officer Dr. NK Sethia gave this information to Collector Anoop Kumar Singh in a meeting held in the Collectorate on Wednesday.
Dr. Sethia said that in seven cases, the compensation amount has been approved by the committee. In the meeting, Collector Anup Kumar Singh instructed that gynecologist Dr. Mandeep Ubeja should be approved for LTT operation as per rules. To promote the use of temporary contraceptive means under the family planning program, the Collector directed to get publicity done through ASHA, Anganwadi workers. During this CMHO Dr. DS Chauhan, Committee Member Secretary and District Health Officer Dr. Sharad Harne, District Immunization Officer Dr. Rakesh Khedekar, Gynecologist Dr. Laxmi Dudve, Pediatrician Dr. Krishna Vaskle, Secretary IMA Dr. Mahendra Pawar, Dr. Aastha Ubeja, Nursing Officer Sheetal Mali, Civil Surgeon Dr. OP Jugtawat were present.
0.2 percent unsuccessful sterilization cases
Health Officer Dr. NK Sethia told that the rate of unsuccessful sterilization cases in the district is 0.2 percent. which is less than the prescribed rate. From April 2021 to January 2022, 6176 sterilizations were done in the district. Which is 82 percent of the annual target. Till February, a total of 6693 sterilizations have been done which is 89.35 percent of the target.
