Pali. The entire staff of Jaitaran police station of Beawar district adjacent to Pali has been removed from there and sent to the line. This action against the entire police station staff has been taken due to the suicide of the gangrape accused locked in the police station lockup. The Superintendent of Police has issued an order in this matter and removed the entire police station staff from there. New staff has been appointed there. There is a stir in the police department regarding the suicide case of the accused in the police station lockup.
According to the police, Rakesh Sirvi (34), accused of gang rape, lodged in Jaitaran police station, committed suicide by hanging himself in the lockup on Friday early morning. He cut a blanket and made a noose out of it. Then he hanged himself. This led to his death. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the police station. There was a stir in the police station after the news of the prisoner’s suicide. The policemen hurriedly took him down from the noose and took him to the hospital. But the doctors declared him dead.
Police said he was arrested on Thursday
On receiving information about the accused’s suicide in the police station lockup, senior officials of Beawar district police reached Jaitaran. They took information about the incident. Later his body was kept in the Jaitaran hospital mortuary. Rakesh was a resident of Chavandiya village of Jaitaran police station area. Police had arrested him in the case of gang rape and kidnapping. Police is saying that the youth will be arrested on Thursday night.
The family alleges that five people were in custody
On the other hand, Rakesh’s family alleges that the police had detained him for five days. He was being harassed at the police station. The deceased’s family alleged that Rakesh committed suicide due to the five days of torture by the police. After that, Beawar Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Chaudhary took the whole matter seriously. He removed the entire staff of the police station including SHO Balbhadra Singh from there and put them on the line.
