Gurugram. The Gurugram Police Crime Branch unit has arrested a man with a country-made pistol from Panchgaon intersection on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Police said that following a tip-off, accused Abhishek alias Gabbar alias Kalu, a resident of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the crime branch unit of Sector-17 from Panchgaon Chowk on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway late on Saturday night.
A total of 25 country-made pistols and two live cartridges, (which were kept in a rucksack bag) were seized from him, Gurugram police said on Sunday.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that he had brought the illegal weapon from Aligarh and was supposed to deliver it to Gurugram, but before that he was arrested by the Gurugram police.
A senior police officer of Gurugram Police said, “Based on credible information, the crime branch team nabbed the accused. The accused will be taken on remand for further interrogation. The police during interrogation found the supplier to break the supply chain. Will try to get information about
The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 25(1-b)(a) and 29(b) of the Arms Act at Manesar police station.
