Jaipur. In compliance of the budget announcement of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to give all the benefits of public distribution system through Jan Aadhar card, the month of mapping of NFSA ration card holders from Jan Aadhar by Rajasthan Jan Aadhar Authority, Planning Department and Food and Civil Supplies Department. An intensive campaign is being run from 2021 onwards.
Major success achieved during the campaign
Naveen Jain, Government Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, said that during the mapping campaign, matching the ration card data with the family members enrolled in Rajasthan Government Health Services (RGHS), it was found that there are 27 thousand 911 government employees who are either Are doing government job or retiring from government service and getting pension and also getting cheap wheat ration. He said that most of the families of these government employees are only one, two, three or four members. From which prima facie it appears that these government personnel were deliberately taking advantage of cheap wheat ration. Maximum 7 thousand families are of four members and 5 thousand families are of 5 members. Most of the families are also those who have recently received cheap wheat ration for the month of March 2022 as well.
The Government Secretary said that among these government employees, maximum 3 thousand 379 families belong to Jaipur district. More than 3 thousand 200 families belong to Alwar district. About 15 thousand personnel are from 7 districts Jaipur, Alwar, Udaipur, Banswara, Kota, Jodhpur and Dungarpur.
Department took this important decision
Jain said that the department has decided that the amount will be collected from these identified 27 thousand 911 government employees at the rate of Rs 27.00 per kg of wheat and deposited in the treasury. Ration cards of the families of these government employees
are being blocked with immediate effect and after recovery these ration cards will be removed from the public distribution system.
In the past also, in this type of recovery campaign, a total of 83 thousand 130 such government employees were identified, who were taking undue benefit of the food security scheme. Out of these, 80.50 crore has been recovered from 65 thousand 499 personnel so far. In the past, maximum recovery was done in Udaipur division.
It is noteworthy that under this campaign, the mapping of almost all the ration card holder families of the state with Jan Aadhaar has been completed. Correcting more than one crore errors under the campaign is an important achievement of the department.
