New Delhi: These days the issue of electoral bonds is in the news in the country. Meanwhile, Congress has raised questions regarding PM Cares Fund. Congress claimed that till date it is not clear why ‘PM Cares Fund’ was established, how much money it received and from whom and how the money received in it was distributed. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh asked why there is such a lack of transparency regarding this fund? ‘PM Cares Fund’ was established during the COVID-19 pandemic.
No trace of PM Cares Fund money
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote in the post on The government has opened another way to benefit the companies and that is the ‘PM Cares Fund’. He claimed that there is no official release of how much money has come into the ‘PM Cares Fund’ and who are the donors. There is no specific report, but reports suggest that it received donations worth at least Rs 12,700 crore.
PM Cares Fund is also a scam
He alleged that the ‘PM Cares Fund’ is exempted from the monitoring of CAG and the Right to Information Act, but it is well known that at least 38 government-owned and operated PSUs have contributed a huge sum of Rs 2,105 crore to the fund. The amount has been donated. Ramesh said that ‘PM Cares Fund’ has received many special exemptions from the government. He said, “Even after four years of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not clear why the ‘PM Cares Fund’ was established, how much money it received and from whom, how the money was distributed and Why is there such a lack of transparency in its administrative structure?” The Congress leader claimed that like electoral bonds, ‘PM Cares Fund’ is also a scam, which is waiting to be exposed.
