Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann made a sensational allegation on the Narendra Modi government and said that the central government had demanded Rs 7.5 crore from the Punjab government in return for sending the army during the Pathankot attack. Speaking in the Punjab Assembly, CM Bhagwant Mann said this while referring to the Pathankot attack. CM Bhagwant Mann said- Me and Aam Aadmi Party leader Sadhu Singh went to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and we said that you deduct this money from the Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) fund that we get, just in return we get this Give it in writing that Punjab is not a part of India and we are hiring army.
CM Bhagwant Mann said that after the attack on Pathankot airbase, the army arrived later, the letter from the government came first that the army has been sent to Punjab, so Punjab will have to pay Rs 7.5 crore. News agency ANI has also released the part of CM Bhagwant Mann’s speech in which he is claiming that after the Pathankot attack, the Center had asked Punjab for Rs 7.5 crore in return for sending the army.
It is worth noting that in the year 2016, on the morning of January 1, four terrorists from Pakistan attacked the Pathankot airbase. Seven army personnel were martyred in this suicide attack. After an encounter that lasted for about 80 hours, the army had killed all the four terrorists. India conducted a surgical strike on Pakistan on 29 September 2016 to counter the Pathankot attack. During this, the Indian Army entered Pakistan and destroyed many hideouts of terrorists.
