Bhopal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday said that a museum will be set up in Madhya Pradesh to commemorate the massacre of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
The proposal to set up the museum has come from the director of ‘The Kashmir Files’ Vivek Agnihotri, which is present in the state.
Talking to reporters, Agnihotri said that he wants to set up a genocide museum in Bhopal, where people will know how Kashmiri Pandits faced the terror attack, and despite all the hardships they never took up arms in retaliation. .
Agnihotri said, “Kashmiri Pandits never asked their children to take up arms or hate them despite facing so many atrocities. They love education and that is the reason why all Kashmiris living in India and anywhere in the world Pandits are successful in life.
He further said that he has urged Chief Minister Chouhan to set up a museum in Bhopal so that the world can know the reality and learn from it. He said that MP is a peaceful state and I am proud to be from Bhopal. My wife is also from Indore.
In his reply, Chouhan said that the Madhya Pradesh government would provide land and other facilities for setting up a museum in Bhopal. Chouhan said that I had gone to Kashmir once to attend a program organized by Kashmiri Pandits in 2008. I have felt their pain. I assure you that the MP government will give full cooperation to establish a genocide museum in Bhopal.
Vivek Agnihotri arrived in Bhopal on Friday to attend the opening ceremony of the three-day Chitra Bharati Film Festival starting this evening.
It is estimated that 120 short films will be screened during the festival. The organization has received a total of 712 short films in 15 languages from 22 states.
