Criminal Gautam Singh and two other accomplices are accused of kidnapping a chicken fodder trader and demanding a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his release.
SP Gonda, Santosh Mishra said that after the kidnapping on March 7, the police started searching for the accused and arrested two accused, Zubair and Raj Kumar Yadav, but the main accused Gautam Singh was absconding.
Mishra said, “We announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on Singh for unearthing the leads and as police raids started across the district, he hid with his brother Anil and later surrendered at Chhapia police station. “
Gang members, including Gautam, kidnapped businessman Sheel Prakash from his shop and kept him hostage in a car for three hours and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his release.
