new Delhi. Hitting back at opposition leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni has challenged that if the opposition proves anything against him, he will retire from politics.
In fact, in the Lok Sabha on Monday, when Ajay Mishra Teni, on behalf of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, was introducing the Criminal Procedure (Identity) Bill 2022, during the debate on the Lakhimpur violence on behalf of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Minister of State Ajay Mishra took a jibe at Teni, to which Teni retaliated and said, “I want to tell Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury that I had also filled the form for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. If there is any case against me or if I have gone to the police station or jail even for a minute, then I will retire from politics.
In fact, in connection with the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri during the farmers’ agitation, the opposition parties are constantly accusing the minister, referring to the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, and also demanding his resignation. However, it is constantly being said by the government that the Union Minister has nothing to do with that matter and the law is taking its course in the whole matter. Let us tell you that in this case, Union Minister’s son Ashish Mishra was arrested, but later the High Court granted him bail.
