Due to a bug in the website, most of the users were not able to order
New Delhi, July 12 (IANS)| Amazon Online Store on Monday suffered losses globally, including in India, as users could not access their product pages when they tried to place orders. According to website outage tracker DownDetector, the e-commerce giant’s online store faced a problem around 7 am on Monday. While 65 per cent users reported problems opening the website, 23 per cent reported log-in and 12 per cent check-out problems.
Amazon said that the company is working to resolve the issue. A tweet said “Hello guys, are you able to see any product details on Amazon India website today. Trying to order some things but can’t find the product detail page. Same issue. Tried a dozen different products! Amazon India Broken or a Bug?” In May, Amazon suffered a brief outage in parts of India, affecting its website and the shopping experience for many users. The website was operational after a partial halt of about two hours.
Downdetector showed a huge increase in problems on amazon.in, mentioning that the most problems Indians faced during the outage were logging in and checking out of the website. In November last year, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud arm of the commerce giant, suffered a massive outage affecting several websites and apps in the US region and took a few hours to recover.
