New Delhi. Amid the political turmoil in Himachal Pradesh, Cabinet Minister Vikramaditya Singh tendered his resignation today, which was withdrawn in the evening. There are speculations that amid the crisis, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has successfully convinced Vikramaditya. Rural Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh had announced his resignation on Wednesday morning, expressing his intention to submit his resignation to the Chief Minister and the Governor. During this announcement he accused the government of mismanagement of finances.
However, in the evening Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Vikramaditya was his younger brother and he would convince him to withdraw his resignation, indicating that it would not be accepted. Later, Vikramaditya reached the Legislative Assembly complex on Wednesday evening and told reporters that even after submitting his resignation, he would remain in the party and would participate in discussions with supporters to decide the future political strategy. He mentioned being unnecessarily targeted in his department.
“Virbhadra Singh did politics on his own terms,” Vikramaditya said, suggesting that he was also following in his footsteps. He warned against attempts to suppress his voice, stressing the lack of cohesion within the Cabinet over the past 14 months. He criticized the neglect of Congress MLAs and suppressing their voices throughout the year.
Furthermore, Vikramaditya highlighted that despite informing the party high command about the incidents and the functioning of the government, no action was taken. He criticized Virbhadra Singh’s six terms as Chief Minister, citing the extensive use of his name during the assembly elections, including advertisements just a day before voting. Overall, Vikramaditya’s withdrawal of resignation indicates a possible resolution within the party amid the ongoing political turmoil in Himachal Pradesh.
