Apart from this, Sam Curran, who was captaining the Punjab team in the match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans on April 21, has to face a fine for violating the IPL code of conduct in the match.
RCB was one over behind schedule
In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, after winning the toss, the RCB team came out to bowl first and fell one over behind the scheduled time in completing its quota of 20 overs, after which in the last over of KKR’s innings, they got only 4 runs outside 30 yards. Fielders were given permission to deploy. After the match, BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Faf du Plessis for slow over rate. This season, Faf has become the 8th captain who has been fined for slow over rate. Earlier, the 7 captains who faced this fine were all Indians.
Sam Curran lost 50 percent of his match fee for objecting to the umpire’s decision.
On one hand, Punjab had to face another defeat this season in the match played between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, while on the other hand, Sam Curran, who was captaining the team in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, was suspended for 50 percent of the match for violating the IPL code of conduct. Have also had to face fee penalty. In the statement issued by the IPL regarding the fine imposed on Sam Curran, it was said that he has violated Level 1 Rule 2.8, in which he has to express his objection in any way during the match regarding the decision of the umpire. Sam Curran has accepted his mistake, after which there will be no further hearing on this matter.
