NEET UG Result 2024: Today, the Supreme Court heard the petition filed after the NEET result. During the hearing, the court said that we will not stop the counseling. Along with this, the Supreme Court has issued a notice and sought a reply in 2 weeks. The next hearing on NEET UG is now scheduled on July 8. What is the role of NTA in NEET UG 2024?
The responsibility of NTA is to conduct the exam and release the result based on the eligibility criteria provided by NMC. Candidates submit their category as per the National Category List and the result is released based on that. NTA has provided All India Rank to the candidates and the admitting authority will prepare a merit list based on the All India Rank for MBBS/BDS etc. seats falling under their jurisdiction. When candidates apply in their state, they will mention their category as per the state category list. The state counselling authority will prepare the merit list accordingly. Same is the case with residence.
