However, illness is said to be the cause of his death. He was admitted to the hospital of Vinnitsa Medical University, Ukraine. He was admitted in ICU due to brain stroke. He died on Wednesday during treatment. This is the second consecutive Indian death in Ukraine. Earlier on Tuesday, Naveen, a resident of Karnataka, died during a shootout in Kharkiv.
Earlier on Tuesday also an Indian student had died. This was confirmed by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs by tweeting. Indian student Naveen Shekharappa, who was killed on the sixth day of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, was a resident of Chalgeri in Haveri, Karnataka. Naveen was studying medicine at Kharkiv National Medical University.
According to media reports, when he was going towards the station from his apartment, he came under fire due to Russian attack. Due to which he died. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also expressed grief over Naveen’s death by tweeting.
According to media reports, the video of the last video call before Naveen’s death surfaced, in which he was talking to his family members. In this video, Naveen’s family members were asking him to put the tricolor on top of their apartment. Naveen, before death, was seen agreeing on the point of the family in this last video call.
Actually, many Indian students are still trapped in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Efforts are on to rescue Indian students trapped in Ukraine. The government is running Operation Ganga to bring back Indians. So far, more than 2 thousand Indians have been brought back under this campaign that started from 26 February.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that out of 20,000 Indians stranded in war-torn Ukraine, 6,000 have been brought back to the country so far and the Center is making all efforts for the safe return of the survivors. He said about 20,000 students and civilians were trapped in Ukraine. Of them, 4,000 were brought back to India before February 24. Apart from this, 2,000 students have been brought back to India till Tuesday.
Scindia told the plan of evacuation of Indians
Meanwhile, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia told that the whole task has been divided into 4 parts, first to bring all our students from Ukraine to the borders of neighboring countries, secondly to get them across the border. The third part is to bring them from the border of the neighboring country to the airports and the fourth is to take them safely to India. Scindia said that there are 6 flights from Bucharest (Romania) to India on Wednesday. Around 1300 students are leaving here for India.
