New Delhi/Srinagar. Projects mired in official and political wrangling for the last 70 years in Jammu and Kashmir have become accessible to the common man after August 5, 2019, when the Center decided to abolish the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate it into two union territories. announced its decision. The rapid development and quick decision making process has transformed the Himalayan region into a completely new place. The new steps are being taken with only one objective to help overcome the hardships faced by the common man during the last 70 years due to Article 370. Earlier, where citizens had to face many problems in Jammu and Kashmir due to the so-called privileges given to the state, they are now gradually decreasing.
Article 370 had helped in providing allowances and a special status to the politicians who had ruled the erstwhile princely state since 1947.
And during the last two and a half years, the situation has changed and now many landmark decisions have been taken to empower the common resident. These initiatives have opened the eyes of a common Kashmiri, who has long been fed up with slogans like ‘autonomy’, ‘self-rule’ and ‘azaadi’.
The Administrative Council has shown the way. Recently, the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Council, headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has approved several projects with an aim to give impetus to the ongoing development works in the Union Territory.
The approved proposals include transfer of 144 kanal 12 marla of land in favor of Yuva Seva (Youth Services) and Sports Department for construction of Arun Jaitley Memorial Sports Complex at Hiranagar in Kathua district of Jammu.
This decision will help in providing quality sports infrastructure for sports like cricket, hockey, football, wrestling and athletics and will put Kathua and Samba districts on the sports map of India. The cost of the sports complex has been estimated to be around Rs 58.23 crore.
The Administrative Council has also approved the transfer of more than 740 kanals of land in favor of Industries and Commerce Department for setting up of new industrial estate in Shopian district of South Kashmir.
The upcoming Industrial Estate will help in promoting economic activities and industrial development in the region and provide entrepreneurship and employment opportunities to the youth of the region.
Similarly, 750 kanals of land has been shifted to set up a Medicity, to provide world class health infrastructure and facilities to the area.
With the advent of Medicity, it will provide employment opportunities to medical and pharma professionals, local pharmacists, vendors and others.
The Administrative Council also approved Rs 21.88 crore for modernization of existing slaughterhouses at Gujjar Nagar and Dogra Hall in Jammu.
An amount of Rs.32.46 crore has been sanctioned for construction of multi-storey parking lot at existing bus stand in Frontier Doda district, while Rs.22.44 crore has been sanctioned for construction of multi-storey bus stand in Ramban district.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has restructured the State Marriage Assistance Scheme to provide benefits to any girl child of legally marriageable age belonging to the families of Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) or Priority Household (PHH) ration card holders. These girls will be eligible for a one-time financial assistance of Rs 50,000, which will be given before marriage.
In order to further promote girl child education in the target population, additional eligibility has been included for the beneficiary to complete elementary education before her marriage. Earlier, the benefits under the scheme were limited to only girls of marriageable age.
During this, emphasis has been laid on removing many obstacles. The recent decisions of the Administrative Council are among the many initiatives that were taken during the last two-and-a-half years after the abrogation of Article 370.
After August 5, 2019, a common man has realized that a temporary provision Article 370, which was included in the Constitution of India, was nothing but a hindrance, which did not allow the erstwhile princely state to be at par with other regions and territories of the country. not allowed to develop.
Meanwhile, politicians have also appeared in two boats. Decision-making in Jammu and Kashmir was a difficult process, as the politicians who ruled the Himalayan region after 1947 were unable to strike a balance between the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions due to political compulsions.
The people of the three regions paid a heavy price for their leaders riding in two boats. On one hand, they talked about Jammu and Kashmir being an ‘unresolved issue’, while on the other they enjoyed the benefits and privileges provided to them by New Delhi.
In the national capital, he used to describe Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists as the biggest enemy, but in Kashmir he leaves no opportunity to praise the adversary and term the terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’.
The politicians of Kashmir were busy with all those issues which did not come under their jurisdiction. This shocked the government and public-friendly decisions were put in cold storage.
These leaders used to describe Article 370 as a ‘protection shield’ for the natives of Jammu and Kashmir and a ‘bridge’ connecting the Himalayan region with New Delhi. But time has proved that this article was neither a shield nor a bridge.
Even by blackmailing the Centre, some people have baked a lot of political bread. After the outbreak of Pakistan-sponsored insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir in 1990, politicians used Article 370 as a shield to protect their respective positions. For 29 years, he blackmailed the Center by propagating that if the so-called special status of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked, the region would go into the arms of Pakistan.
In today’s date all the myths created by him have been shattered. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed massive development during the last two years. They have been empowered and their area has developed. Road and air connectivity has improved and train service to Kashmir is no longer too far.
Now local people have been given employment and big corporate houses have come forward with investment proposals worth thousands of crores.
Article 370 was used to mislead. A common man in Jammu and Kashmir does not even want to talk about Article 370, as he has understood that it is being used as a temptation by the powerful political families of Kashmir to mislead people and deprive them of centrally sponsored schemes. was done in Temptations were made to help people live better lives.
Politicians who swear by Article 370 have become irrelevant in the ‘new’ J&K. He has announced that he will not even contest the assembly elections. It seems that they are aware of the fact that they will be rejected by the people.
The recent decisions taken by the Administrative Council have proved beyond doubt that ‘where there is a will there is a way’.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir could have taken similar decisions, but had different priorities. Had they worked towards fully integrating J&K with the Union of India, Pakistan and terrorists would never have succeeded in their nefarious designs and J&K could always be a better place for anyone to live in. Was.
