ASG Raju, appearing for ED in the High Court on Kejriwal’s petition, said, all the arguments of Singhvi are dishonest. He presented arguments for quashing the case. This is the initial stage. We have to confiscate the property. But the problem is that on this it will be said that the party is being harassed at the time of elections. In its affidavit, ED has described Kejriwal as the main conspirator. The investigating agency says that Aam Aadmi Party convenor Kejriwal is fully involved in the money laundering case. ED’s lawyer said that Kejriwal had formed an expert committee for show. Kejriwal was involved in bribery. Rs 45 crore was used in Goa elections. The money was sent to Goa through four routes. The bribe money was taken in cash. ED said that Aam Aadmi Party works like a company and not a political party. Kejriwal is the leader of AAP and he is also answerable for his colleagues.
While presenting his side, Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the ED clearly arrested him directly without any interrogation and without recording any statement. The arrest in this case before the elections is raising many questions. Singhvi said that at the time of arrest, no attempt was made to take any statement at Kejriwal’s house. Singhvi asked why the arrest was made in the middle of the elections. Singhvi said in the court that this is a two year old case, hence Delhi CM Kejriwal was arrested just before the elections, it is a question in itself as to why the ED chose this time for the arrest.
