The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the violence that took place in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Hanuman Jayanti. VHP International Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain claimed that a jihadi terror bomb is ready in Delhi which can explode anytime. “Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has become a sleeper cell of terrorists today. I demand from the central government that there should be an investigation by the NIA, as it involves the issue of national security,” Jain said.
The VHP leader said, “Jihadi mentality is definitely responsible for the violence in Jahangirpuri and this is happening not only in India or Delhi but all over the world. 21 people arrested for indulging in violence
The Delhi Police has arrested 21 people, including the main conspirator behind the clashes, and another person, who allegedly fired at a sub-inspector, for their involvement in the violence during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri area of the city. Had driven Delhi Police chief Rakesh Asthana met the injured sub-inspector Meda Lal on Monday and assured him that the department would provide all possible help to him.
8 policemen and 1 local person injured in clash
Incidents of stone pelting and arson occurred in Jahangirpuri during a procession taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, in which eight police personnel, including Lal, and a local person were injured. During this, Lal was shot. Police said they have also recovered a pistol from Mohammad Aslam, 21, a slum resident at CD Park in Jahangirpuri, which he had allegedly used during the crime on Saturday evening.
