New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. After this development, the legal team of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has approached the Supreme Court. AAP has challenged the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said that she has approached the Supreme Court to cancel the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He has appealed to the Supreme Court for an immediate hearing. Delhi Assembly Speaker has said that Kejriwal will not resign even after his arrest.
It is reported that 6 to 8 ED officers reached CM Kejriwal’s residence, the ED team has issued the 10th summons. Earlier, ED had issued 9 summons to CM Kejriwal. Today on March 21, Kejriwal received the 10th summons. Many ACP rank officers of ED reached CM residence. During questioning under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), concerns were raised that the ED might arrest Kejriwal. As a result, barricades were put up around the CM residence. ED interrogated Kejriwal for 2 hours.
AAP leaders reaction on ED action
Meanwhile, Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that no one is being allowed inside the CM residence, indicating preparations for Kejriwal’s arrest. He expressed concern that ED’s action was like a raid on the CM residence.
In Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that BJP’s political team (ED) cannot capture the ideology of CM Kejriwal as only AAP can stop BJP. He emphasized that no one’s ideology can be suppressed.
AAP’s statement: PM Modi feels afraid of Kejriwal!
When the ED team reached CM Kejriwal’s residence, Aam Aadmi Party said that PM Modi is afraid of Kejriwal. He emphasized that Kejriwal is the only alternative to Modi in the entire country. The party raised the question that how can Kejriwal’s ideology spreading in every city, village and town be stopped.
Kejriwal gets a shock from the High Court
It is noteworthy that on Thursday, Delhi High Court had given a big blow to CM Kejriwal. The court said that he will not be exempted from arrest. Kejriwal was not attending the ED’s summons for questioning, seeking assurance from the court that he would not be arrested if he appeared for questioning. However, the court ruled that Kejriwal will have to appear before the ED in response to the summons and there is no stay on his arrest.
