New Delhi. Former umpire of the Elite Panel of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Asad Rauf passed away in Lahore. It is being told that he died due to heart failure. Rauf was 66 years old. Rauf of Pakistan he officiated in 231 international matches. Rauf was counted among the best umpires of his time. He officiated in Test matches for the first time in 2005. Just a year later, the ICC included him in the elite panel.
Rauf’s tenure
Rauf officiated in 64 Tests, 139 ODIs and 28 T20Is. Of these, 15 Tests, 41 ODIs and five T20s served as third umpires. Along with Aleem Dar, his name has started being included in the famous umpires of Pakistan who took the level of umpiring in the country to the heights. Rauf was known for his quick batting in the middle order. He played for National Bank and Railways during his first-class career. He averaged 28.76 in 71 first-class matches. Which was great.

Condoling the news, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal shared his picture on his social media and wrote that it was sad to know about the death of former ICC umpire Asad Rauf. Let us tell you that Asad Rauf was suspended from the post of umpire after proving him an accused in the match-fixing case. He was named a “wanted accused” by the Mumbai Police in the match-fixing case.
