New Delhi. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and DP World today jointly announced new title sponsorships that will be reflected in the upcoming men’s T20 cricket tournament between the six countries. Asia Cup will now be known as DP World Asia Cup 2022. Cricket stars from across the continent are gearing up for the second T20 edition of the Asia Cup, which will be played in Dubai and Sharjah from August 27 to September 11, 2022. The new look includes teams representing India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the DP World Asia Cup. In addition, the winners of the qualification round Singapore, Kuwait, Hong Kong and UAE will also participate in the tournament. There will be a total of 13 matches in this tournament which will be telecast on Star Sports. The first match of the tournament will be between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The final match will be played on September 11, 2022 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE. This is the fourth time that the Asia Cup will be held in the UAE. Commenting on the sponsorship, ACC President Jay Shah said, “Very happy to have DP World as the title sponsor for the Asia Cup 2022.
