new Delhi. The attendants of patients admitted in 6 hospitals of Delhi will get free food. On Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla flagged off ‘Prasadam Rathas’ from his residence to provide free food to the attendants of patients admitted in hospitals.
On this occasion, Birla said that in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, work of social concern is being done to provide free food to the underprivileged and poor sections of the society. He said that in the coming days, apart from other hospitals, such facilities would also be made available at places like bus stations and railway stations.
Let us tell you that this program of free food, run by the initiative and inspiration of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, has now been extended to 6 hospitals in Delhi. Now apart from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, outside 6 hospitals including Safdarjung and Lady Hardinge, hot, clean and nutritious food will be provided free of cost to the attendants of patients admitted there through these ‘Prasadam Raths’.
Vishnu Mittal, senior social worker, BJP leader and national convener of Aao Saath Chalen Sanstha, said that till now the organization used to provide food through packets to the attendants of 1000 patients daily in four hospitals, but now Lok Sabha Speaker Birla’s This Prasadam chariot has been prepared, expanding the scheme on the initiative. He said that these prasadam chariots have been made available by the Speaker of Lok Sabha and have facilities for cooking and heating food.
