Former Australian cricketer Rod Marsh passed away at the age of 74. He had suffered a heart attack last week and went into a coma. He died after being in a coma for a week. Cricket Australia chairman Dr Lachlan Henderson confirmed the wicket-keeper batsman’s death saying, “It is a very sad event for Australian cricket and the people who have loved and admired Rhode Marsh. The way Rod played cricket. And he will always be remembered for the pleasure he brought to the fans while being part of the Australian teams. Marsh caught the catch of Lillee. This sentence holds a lot of significance in our cricket.”
Rod Marsh started his career in 1968 and announced his retirement in 1984. During this he scored 11067 runs in 257 first-class matches. His average was 31.17. In his career, he also did 869 hunting.
