Two-wheeler manufacturing company Bajaj Auto is working on creating a portfolio of motorcycles running on clean fuel CNG and in June this year, the company will launch a CNG running bike. This information was given by the company’s MD Rajiv Bajaj on Friday.
Petrol will be costlier than bike
Bajaj further said that the first bike running on clean fuel will hit the market in June. The new bike will target cost-conscious customers and may be launched in the market under a separate brand. However, Bajaj said that due to the high cost of manufacturing this bike, its price may be higher than petrol bikes.
According to media reports, this bike could be a commuter segment and it is likely to have a 100 to 160 cc engine. This bike has also been spotted in many test runs. It is likely to be provided with digital cluster and LED headlights. Apart from this, disc brake has also been spotted at the front in the test model.
Pulsar will reach 20 lakh units mark
Bajaj also said that the sales of Pulsar bike, which was launched 20 years ago, is expected to cross the 20 lakh units mark soon. He also committed the Bajaj Group to spend Rs 5,000 crore for corporate social responsibility (CSR) over the next five years. This will benefit over two crore youth of the future and enable them to take advantage of the employment and entrepreneurship opportunities offered by India’s growing economy.
