New Delhi. Some special information is coming out regarding the Indian Premier League. The dates of two matches have been changed by the board. Along with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals, it was also decided to change the schedule of the matches between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. However, BCCI did not give any reason for doing so.
It was decided on Tuesday to postpone Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Indian Premier League home match against Rajasthan Royals to April 16, a day earlier than originally scheduled. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also made changes in the schedule of the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad. However, BCCI did not give any reason for doing so.
PTI had said in its news on Monday that a change in the schedule of the match between KKR and Royals on April 17 is almost certain due to Ram Navami. However, BCCI did not give any reason for the change in the schedule of these two matches. BCCI said in the statement, “The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals to be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 17 April 2024 will now be held a day earlier on 16 April 2024. Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was earlier to host the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals on 16 April 2024. This match will now take place on 17 April 2024.
It is learned that Kolkata Police expressed its inability to provide adequate security for KKR’s third home match of the 17th season of IPL. Three days before this, there is a match against Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens. Voting will also be held in Bengal on April 19 during the first phase of the seven-phase general elections. Voting in Kolkata is to be held on June 1. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had suggested that the match be held either a day earlier (April 16) or 24 hours later on April 18.
