Delhi Capitals’ big defeat
New Delhi. BCCI has fined all the players of Delhi Capitals team including captain Rishabh Pant. In the 16th match of IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi team was found guilty of slow over rate. This is the second time this season that the Delhi team has been fined for slow over rate. In the match played in Visakhapatnam, Delhi Capitals team could not finish the over within the stipulated time in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
BCCI said, ‘Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders.’ Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 24 lakh, while other players in the team’s playing eleven, including impact player Abhishek Porel, will have to pay either Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of the match fee, whichever is less. Pant has made this mistake for the second time this season. Therefore, along with him, other players of the team were also fined. If Pant is found guilty of slow over rate for the third time, then he may have to face a ban of one match.

In IPL any team has to complete the quota of 20 overs in 90 minutes. Delhi Capitals took almost 2 hours to complete the over against Kolkata Knight Riders. After the aggressive batting of Sunil Narayan and the brilliant performance of the bowlers, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 106 runs in the match played in Visakhapatnam.
Rishabh Pant scored his second consecutive half-century
With the help of Narayan’s 85 runs in 39 balls and Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 54 runs in 27 balls, KKR scored 272 runs for 7 wickets and missed by five runs from equaling the record of the highest score in the history of IPL. The Delhi team was nowhere to be seen in the match with both bat and ball. Captain Rishabh Pant scored his second consecutive half-century while Tristan Stubbs also played an inning of 54 runs but apart from these, no other batsman could survive and the entire team was 17. Was reduced to 166 runs in 2 overs. Pant and Stubbs made a partnership of 93 runs but till then runs had to be scored at the rate of twenty runs per over. Delhi team did not get a good start and wickets kept falling continuously.
