The equations are changing in Madhya Pradesh Congress before the assembly elections 2023 and the roles of the leaders in 2018 are showing signs of change. The role of former Pradesh Congress President and former Union Minister Arun Yadav can be a coordinating role in the coming elections, but it will not be an easy road for him. Digvijay Singh himself can become a challenge for him.
Former Madhya Pradesh Congress president Arun Yadav was removed by the high command in April 2018 and Kamal Nath was made PCC chief and at that time Kamal Nath was considered a master of political management in Delhi. However, the image created till then in national politics has been dented by the fall of the Congress government in the state and his team played an important role in this. At that time former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath had good relations because in the assembly elections 2018, Digvijay Singh had held several meetings to convince the angry leaders. After the fall of the government, the relationship between Kamal Nath-Digvijay did not remain the same and the distance was visible on the road from Digvijay’s remarks while staging a sit-in for not giving time to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Now looking for a leader with the role of coordination
The party is seeing circumstances in search of a leader who will play the role of coordination among the leaders in the assembly elections 2023. Arun Yadav, who met the high command in search of such a leader, has been seen active amid the demand being raised by a faction in the party regarding two posts near Kamal Nath. Sources reveal that Kamal Nath had called a meeting of senior party leaders and former ministers in the state on Monday, but when the issue of leadership was not raised, Yadav had come to meet some leaders. Yadav reached the place of Dr. Govind Singh, who was considered a strong contender for Leader of Opposition and discussed. It is said that in this discussion, he was requested not to raise such a matter in the meeting so that the original purpose of the meeting could be fulfilled.
Leaders support in Bundelkhand tour
Digvijay Singh visited the areas after Kamal Nath became PCC chief and interacted with the leaders and workers and this time Digvijay Singh is still calm but Arun Yadav has started it. The tour was started from Datia’s Pitambar Peeth and here many leaders including MLAs and lost candidates met the workers during Yadav’s visit and organized worker dialogues. Similarly, meetings are being held with Yadav’s workers in Niwari and Tikamgarh also. Former general secretary in charge of PCC Chandrika Prasad Dwivedi says that Yadav is getting good response during his Bundelkhand tour. There are good signs for the Congress that all the people are coming together.
not easy way
The Madhya Pradesh Congress has been dominated by factional politics and in such a situation, the path of coordination cannot be easy for Yadav. The biggest screw in this can be Digvijay Singh as he has played this role in 2018. So whether he will be able to see this role succeed if he gets someone else, that is the big question. In this, allied organizations of leaders supporting Digvijay Singh, Youth Congress and Mahila Congress can also create problems. Youth Congress State President is Vikrant Bhuria and Mahila Congress President is Vibha Patel. Similarly, another faction of the state Congress is that of Suresh Pachauri, whose leaders are still backward in the eyes of the national leadership, but their supporters are still active in the state.
