According to the data released by the Civil Aviation Ministry on Monday, the total number of domestic air passengers on April 21 (Sunday) was 4,71,751 while a total of 6,128 flights were operated during this period. This number is higher than the domestic air traffic of 4,28,389 passengers and 5,899 flights recorded on April 21, 2023.

March quarter record number of passengers traveled
Last week, aviation sector regulator DGCA had said that 391.46 lakh passengers traveled by domestic airlines in the January-March quarter compared to 375.04 lakh in the same period last year.
Indian airline placed a big order
In 2023, record airplane orders were placed by Indian airlines to aircraft manufacturing companies. The biggest order has been placed by the country’s largest airline IndiGo. The company has ordered about 500 airplanes. At the same time, Tata Group’s airline Air India is at second place, it has ordered about 470 aircraft.
