New Delhi. In the eyes of the Congress, India is a slave like the British Raj in the era of PM Narendra Modi’s government. Making this an issue, now the Congress has started preparing to give more edge to its movement against the Modi government. Under this, the party has now announced to start ‘Bharat Jodo’ Yatra from 7 September. This journey will go from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Yatra will pass through 12 states and 2 union territories. Congress’s media cell head and Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh has issued a statement saying that this journey of about 3500 km will be completed in 150 days. During this visit, Congress leaders and workers will tell people about the policies of the Modi government and compare it with the Congress rule.
Jairam Ramesh has told that other leaders of the party including Rahul Gandhi will also participate in this Bharat Jodi Yatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He has appealed that whoever considers fear, bigotry, prejudice, unemployment and inequality to be a threat to the country, they should join this yatra. Let us tell you that for some time, the Congress has continued to surround the BJP government on unemployment and other issues. Congress is preparing to intensify this movement further during this visit.
Congress has also linked this India Jodo Yatra with the ‘Quit India’ movement that started from 8 August 1942 of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Jairam Ramesh has said in the statement that the Quit India movement was started 80 years ago with the inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi and after 5 years the country got independence. Let us tell you that the election of the new President of Congress is also to be held in October itself. Earlier, this visit of Congress can also act as an opinion poll among the common people regarding this post.
