new Delhi. After the crushing defeat in five states, the round of meetings in the Congress is going on. On one hand there were meetings between the leaders of G23, while on the other hand former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda met former party president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Thursday. Congress leader KC Venugopal was also present during this.
It is being speculated from this meeting that, in view of the frequent meetings of G23 leaders, the high command is trying to break G23 through the politics of Haryana. Also, there has been a discussion on who will be the Haryana Congress State President.
According to the current information, Deepender Singh Hooda can be made the chief of Haryana Congress. After the meeting was over, Bhupinder Singh Hooda did not talk to the media in any way. KC Venugopal also left Rahul Gandhi’s residence shortly after his departure.
Congress is busy consolidating its position in view of the 2024 elections and the high command is not in a position to anger even the leaders with mass base.
In the meeting held on Wednesday, Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, besides former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Anand Sharma, Kapil Sibal, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, senior Punjab leader Rajendra Kaur Bhattal, Raj Babbar, MA Khan, Kuldeep Sharma, Vivek Tankha, Sandeep Dixit, Congress MP Preneet Kaur, wife of Captain Amarinder Singh and former Congress leader from Gujarat Shankersinh Vaghela also attended.
