Youtube Taking major action in India, it has removed more than 22 lakh videos from its platform. The company released the report and said that in the fourth quarter of last year, 2.25 million i.e. 22 lakh 50 thousand videos were removed from Google’s video platform. These videos have been removed from YouTube between October 2023 and December 2023.
Google said in its report released on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 that among 30 countries, the maximum number of videos from India have been removed from its platform. At the same time, around 12.4 lakh videos from Singapore and 7.8 lakh videos from America have been removed. Globally, the video sharing platform has removed 9 million or 90 lakh videos from its platform, out of which 96 percent of the videos were flagged by Google’s machine.
Were not playing the match according to community guidelines
Of the total videos removed by YouTube, 53.46 percent of the videos had received only one view. At the same time, 27.07 percent of the videos were such that they got only 1 to 10 views before being removed. YouTube said in its statement that these videos removed from the platform were not matching their community guidelines.
The social media platform said in its statement that YouTube community guidelines are the same all over the world. In this, the uploading user, place and how the content generation has been done is not seen. Content is removed globally and the help of humans as well as machine learning is taken to remove them.
2 crore channels also banned
Not only this, YouTube has also removed 20 million or more than 2 crore channels from its platform between October 2023 and December 2024. Action has been taken against these channels under YouTube’s spam policy. Misleading metadata, thumbnails and content have been found in the videos uploaded on these. Apart from this, 1.1 billion comments have also been removed from YouTube.
