Betting cost so much to an engineer from Bengaluru that his entire family was ruined. Actually, what happened was that this person, an engineer by profession, lost not a small thing but an amount of Rs 1.5 crore in the game. A person named Darshan Babu has been betting in IPL since the year 2021. The wife was also fed up with this habit of her husband.
According to the information received, Ranjeeta was found hanging from the fan at her house in Chitradurga, Karnataka on March 18. According to the family, Darshan had incurred huge debts. He worked as an assistant engineer in the minor irrigation department in Hosdurga. Due to his habit of betting on IPL from 2021 to 2023, he was deeply stuck in debt. This had a big impact on the financial condition of the couple. At one time he had a debt of more than ₹ 1.5 crore. Police say that he also managed to return ₹ 1 crore of the total amount. He still has an outstanding loan of ₹ 84 lakh.

Due to this reason he took suicidal steps
Ranjita married Darshan in 2020. His father Venkatesh claims that he realized the truth of Darshan’s involvement in betting in 2021. In his complaint, the father said that his daughter was extremely upset with the constant calls from loan sharks and that is why she ended her life. The father has also given the names of 13 people who had allegedly lent money. He used to call his daughter every day and harass her to return the money.

He said that his son-in-law was lured into betting to get quick money. “Darshan was not ready to get into betting, but some people pressured him saying it was an easy way to become rich. “They promised to finance his bookmaking activities in exchange for some blank checks as security.”
