New Delhi. Sippy Sidhu Murder Case Many of you will be such who have not even heard the name of this massacre, but 7 years ago this massacre shook the whole of Chandigarh. Nearly seven years after the murder of national level shooter and lawyer Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu alias Sippy Sidhu, the CBI took major action and arrested Kalyani, daughter of the acting Chief Justice in Himachal. This murder is of the year 2015 when Sippy Sidhu was shot dead in a park of Sector 27 in Chandigarh. Sidhu’s mother and his brother GP Sidhu had accused Kalyani, the daughter of a judge in the then Chandigarh High Court, of murder. Sippy Sidhu’s family had alleged that the deceased Sidhu was friends with Kalyani and they had a fight over something. Sidhu was called to Sector 27 at around 10:00 pm and he was murdered.
On September 20, 2015, the bullet-ridden body of Sippy Sidhu was found in a park in Sector 27. It is alleged that Kalyani was also present during this time. The police also investigated this whole matter and after that the matter reached the CBI and after about 7 years, the CBI has arrested the accused in this case. After the arrest, the accused Kalyani was produced in a local court in Chandigarh. The court has sent Kalyani to police custody for four days. Sippy Sidhu was also a national level shooter and advocate by profession. The case was registered on September 21 on the request of the Chandigarh Administration. Since then the investigation of this case was going on continuously.
The CBI’s entry in this case was made when the Central Investigation Agency had registered the case on March 13, 2016. Sukhmanpreet Singh was also the owner of a firm named M/s Sippy Sidhu. The CBI has claimed that Sippy was murdered because of a love affair. Kalyani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Home Science, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh. Kalyani Singh’s mother Justice Sabina has also been a judge in Punjab and Haryana High Court and now she is posted as Acting Chief Justice in Himachal High Court.
