New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party patron and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar jail in ED custody in a money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam, has got another blow today. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court rejected Kejriwal’s plea seeking medical advice from his personal doctor through daily video conferencing. On the demand of giving insulin to CM Kejriwal, the court said that a medical board of expert doctors of AIIMS should be formed, which will take a decision on this.
Recently, citing his diabetes, Kejriwal had requested the court that since my sugar level is uncontrolled in jail, I should be allowed to consult my personal doctor daily through video conferencing. Kejriwal had also demanded to include his wife Sunita in the video conferencing. It is worth noting that for the last few days, there has been an uproar regarding Kejriwal giving insulin and his diet. ED has told the court that Kejriwal is deliberately eating mangoes and sweets in jail so that his sugar increases and he can get bail on medical grounds. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party has accused Tihar administration, ED and BJP of playing with Kejriwal’s health.
Earlier, the PIL seeking bail of Kejriwal was heard in the court of CJ Manmohan in Delhi High Court. Rejecting this petition, the court imposed a fine of Rs 75 thousand on the petitioner and said that Kejriwal can express his views himself, he does not need your help. Let us tell you that this petition was filed by a law student in the name Hum Bharat Ke Log. In this petition, citing the custodial killing of gangsters Tillu Tajpuria and Atiq Ahmed, Kejriwal’s life was in danger in Tihar and a demand was made to grant him bail in all cases till the completion of his tenure.
