McDonald’s, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and General Electric have temporarily suspended service in Russia in view of the escalating war crisis in Ukraine.
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues for the 14th consecutive day. To stop Russia, companies of many big countries including America have started trying to break the back of its economy by stopping their service there. In this sequence, Pepsi, Coke, McDonald’s and Starbucks have also decided to temporarily suspend all their services from there, taking strong measures.
McDonald’s president issued statement
McDonald’s President and CEO Chris Kempczynski wrote an open letter to his employees, saying that our values mean we cannot ignore the unnecessary human suffering facing Ukraine. He further said that it will temporarily close 850 stores, but will continue to pay its 62,000 employees in Russia, who have put their heart and soul into our McDonald’s brand. Kempczinski said it’s impossible to know when the company will be able to reopen its stores.
