Niroshan Dickwella
The T20 World Cup will be played in the month of June in the year 2024, for which only about three months are left to start, hence all the 20 teams do not have much time left to prepare. The Sri Lankan team is now on a tour of Bangladesh where it has to play a three-match T20 series from March 4. Before that, a big change has been seen in the Sri Lankan team, which has seen the sudden return of wicketkeeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella, who was out of the T20 team after three years. Dickwella has been included in the team in place of Kusal Perera, who will not be seen playing in the T20 series against Bangladesh due to illness.
The last T20 match was played in the year 2021
The return of Niroshan Dickwella to the Sri Lankan T20 team clearly indicates that he is also in the race of contending players to play the World Cup. Dickwella played his last T20 match in the year 2021. The Sri Lankan team has already reached Bangladesh, after which Dickwella will join the team on March 2. Dickwella played his last match for the Sri Lankan team in the limited overs format in the year 2022. If we look at the record of Niroshan Dickwella in T20 International, he has so far played 28 T20 matches and scored 480 runs at an average of 18.46, during which he has seen only 1 half-century innings with his bat. Let us tell you that Charith Asalanka will be seen handling the responsibility of captaining the Sri Lankan team in the first 2 matches of the T20 series against Bangladesh. After this, a 3-match ODI series will also be played between the two, the first match of which will be held on March 13, while at the end there will be a 2-match Test series, which is also a part of the third edition of the World Test Championship.
