Taking a big decision on Thursday, the Modi government reduced the area under AFSPA in the northeastern states of Nagaland, Assam and Manipur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information.
He tweeted that the Government of India has decided to reduce the disturbed areas under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the states of Nagaland, Assam and Manipur after decades.
The Union Home Minister said, “In a significant step, the Government of India under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has decided to reduce the disturbed areas under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the states of Nagaland, Assam and Manipur after decades Is.”
“The reduction in the areas under AFSPA is the result of rapid development due to the improvement in the security situation and the continuous efforts and several agreements by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government to bring lasting peace and end insurgency in the North East,” he said.
Amit Shah thanked PM Modi and wrote, “With the unwavering commitment of Narendra Modi ji, our Northeast region, which was neglected for decades, is now witnessing a new era of peace, prosperity and unprecedented development. I am proud of this important I congratulate the people of the Northeast on the occasion.”
