The problems for Lucknow Super Giants increased the most in IPL 2024 when the team’s lethal bowler Mayank Yadav got injured. Due to his injury, the team’s bowling unit also suffered a lot. Meanwhile, news came that he will not play the next few matches for the team, but now another big update has come out, after which the fans of Lucknow Super Giants will get some relief. The head coach of the team has given an update in which match he will return for Lucknow after his injury.
What did the head coach say?
Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justing Langer is hopeful that fast bowler Mayank Yadav will return to cricket action against Chennai Super Kings on April 19 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, they have to play matches against Delhi Capitals on 12th April and Kolkata Knight Riders on 14th April. He will miss both these matches as the star bowler suffered a lower abdominal injury during the match against Gujarat Titans and could bowl only one over in that match.
Justin Langer said in the pre-match press conference that after bowling the first over against Gujarat Titans, he felt pain in his lower abdomen and that is why his pace slowed down a bit. We got the MRI done and after the report it was said that he will not be available for the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals. Nevertheless, it is expected that he will be available in the match against Chennai. In the match against Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Mayank had to be walked off the field after bowling just one over, where his pace was slow and he was hit for three fours, giving a total of 13 runs in that over.
Said this about Mohsin Khan
However, Langer has confirmed the availability of Mohsin Khan for Friday’s match against Delhi Capitals, who has been ruled out of action against RCB and has been replaced by Yash Thakur. Mohsin has played two matches for LSG so far and has taken three wickets. Langer said that he is fit and will be available for the DC match. He is taking training in nets and practice sessions. He looks fully fit and is bowling with good rhythm, he can be seen in action tomorrow. LSG will face Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday.
