Bhagalpur. In many villages of Bhagalpur, Banka and Madhepura districts of Bihar state, where women are crying, weeping is being heard. In many homes, the concern of women was reverberating in such a way that the hearts of those who listened are also quivering. There are people in these houses, but their caregivers were allegedly consumed by spurious liquor. Now the question of the people of the village is that why did not such deaths take place before the prohibition of liquor? When there is a ban on alcohol, then how can you get alcohol?
36-year-old Aman Raj, a resident of Katra village of Sultanganj, was married 30-35 days ago to Khushboo, a resident of Ghiya village of Goradih. The colors of henna on Khushboo’s hands were not even completely erased that poisonous alcohol had ruined her life. Aman had gone to his in-laws’ house to celebrate Holi and according to family members, he drank alcohol.
His health started deteriorating in the night itself. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he died. This story is not just about one family. In this Holi, more than 30 people of Bhagalpur, Banka and Madhepura districts have died under suspicious circumstances. Police is now the matter of investigation.
The administration is not openly accepting the death due to spurious liquor, but the family members are talking about drinking alcohol. Deepak, a resident of Kajra Amarpur, also died during treatment. According to his family, he was going to get married a few days later, but he died under suspicious circumstances. The local people are now raising questions on the police itself. The villagers say that the information about the consignment of liquor was given to the police, but the police did not take any effective initiative.
By the way, this is not the first time in the state of Bihar that people have died allegedly due to spurious liquor. On the death of poisonous liquor, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also said that after prohibition, people make wrong things and if people drink such wrong things then they will have to lose their lives. But the question is arising that if the police had been alert after the death due to poisonous liquor, then the lives of such people could have been prevented.
Here, now the investigation of the whole case has started. An official of the Police Headquarters said that wherever the news of death has come, orders have been given to the concerned Superintendent of Police to conduct a thorough investigation from all the places. Teams have been formed at the district level. In whose house the news of death is coming, the administration is reaching their homes and conducting intensive investigation.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given instructions to the officers to take strict action regarding the prohibition of liquor. Drones and helicopters, even motor boats, have been installed to curb liquor smugglers.
