Ranchi. BJP and AJSU are once again seen face to face regarding the Gandey by-election in Jharkhand. The latest matter is related to Gandey by-election, where BJP has increased the anxiety of AJSU by announcing its candidate on Friday. Actually, the latest controversy has arisen after the announcement of BJP’s candidate in Gandey by-election on Friday. BJP has fielded Dilip Verma in Gandey by-election. Amidst all this, the thing to think about is that in the AJSU Parliamentary Board meeting on Friday itself, Central President Sudesh Mahato had expressed his claim on this seat.
Sudesh Mahato had said that AJSU has a stake in the Gandey by-election. He based this on the results of the 2019 assembly elections and said that at that time the AJSU candidate was at number three but the BJP candidate, who was at number two, has now joined another party. In such a situation, AJSU has a stake in this seat. But, just a few hours after this claim, BJP announced the name of Dilip Verma from this seat.
AJSU’s displeasure came to the fore
AJSU’s displeasure is also coming out openly only after BJP has given its candidate. According to information received from sources, the party is continuing its discussion on reaching a consensus with BJP. At present, the message from the party is making it clear that BJP will have to play the role of charioteer in Gandey and AJSU will play the role of Arjun. Actually, AJSU was preparing to field Arjun Baitha from Gandey once again. Arjun Baitha had also contested the last assembly elections in 2019. Last time he got 15 thousand votes.
Dilip Verma is in the electoral fray
The interesting thing is that this time BJP has fielded the candidate Dilip Verma. He got 7 thousand votes in the last election. At that time Dilip Verma had contested the elections on JVM ticket. In 2019, JP Verma, the BJP candidate from Gandey, got 55 thousand votes. But, now JP Verma has gone to JMM. On the basis of this equation, a rift has broken out between BJP and AJSU.
BJP broke its silence
However, BJP has broken its silence in this matter. Party spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that BJP’s claim is strong in Gandeya because in the last assembly elections, BJP candidate stood second here. He said that wherever AJSU has its support base. BJP shows big heart and gives them a chance. In this regard he cited Ramgarh and Dumri by-elections.
