All three VIP MLAs Mishri Lal Yadav, Raju Singh and Swarna Singh joined the BJP after reaching the BJP office at the BJP headquarters late on Wednesday evening. State President Sanjay Jaiswal got the membership. Deputy Chief Ministers Tarkishore Singh and Renu Devi were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the three VIP MLAs met Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha and submitted a letter to merge their party with the BJP. After some time the Speaker of the Assembly also approved the merger.
Giving the party membership to the three MLAs at the BJP office in Patna, the BJP President said that this is homecoming. He said that out of the 11 candidates who contested on VIP tickets in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, 8 were from the BJP, out of which 3 candidates went back home.
Mukesh Sahni, the founder of VIP, is the MLC, who is currently the Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources in the state, so it is believed that now the pressure of leaving the ministerial post will increase on him too.
