Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress over the violence in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. Amit Shah said that yes, we want to contest elections everywhere, but govern on the basis of our ideology, performance and program and not by killing opposition leaders and raping women. Apart from this, Shah has also surrounded the Congress.
Amit Shah said, “We don’t want to gain power by killing workers of opposition parties, this is not BJP’s culture.” Referring to the recent incidents of violence in West Bengal and incidents of violence after the results of assembly elections were declared last year, Amit Shah said, “Yes, we (BJP) hold elections everywhere on the basis of our ideology, performance and programmes. want to fight. The Union Home Minister further said that even TMC had gone to Goa to contest elections, but we do not want to rule any state by killing opposition leaders and raping women.
Shah lashed out at Congress by mentioning emergency
Taking a dig at Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Those who can’t choose their party, they are giving us a message about democracy.” Apart from this, Shah targeted the Congress for imposing Emergency. Referring to the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Amit Shah said, “We are not afraid of any election, but we have a history of how the Emergency was imposed out of fear.”
Aam Aadmi Party’s allegations also responded
Amit Shah further said that BJP is not afraid of any election. Victory or defeat is part of democracy. Talking about the allegations of Aam Aadmi Party that the government is not conducting civic elections in Delhi out of fear as they are afraid of losing, Amit Shah said why should we be afraid of AAP? If they are so confident of winning the election, they can win the election even after six months. Why is there any apprehension?’
