Shivamogga: Karnataka BJP’s rebel leader K.S. is adamant on contesting Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Shivamogga seat of Karnataka. Eshwarappa has taken a big step. He has filed a caveat petition in the district court regarding using the photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the election campaign. Eshwarappa filed the caveat petition on Friday as he felt that if the BJP leader files an application in this regard, the court may direct the rebel leader not to use PM Modi’s photographs.
‘PM Modi is not the property of Raghavendra’s father’
Let us tell you that BJP’s Shivamogga candidate and MP B.Y. The war of words is already going on between Raghavendra and Eshwarappa. Raghavendra had made fun of Eshwarappa for using pictures of PM Modi during the election campaign. On this Eshwarappa had said that PM Modi is not the property of Raghavendra’s father. Eshwarappa along with his son K.E. Kanthesh is angry with BJP’s decision of not giving ticket from Haveri Lok Sabha seat. However, he is contesting from Shivamogga to defeat BJP candidate Raghavendra, who is the son of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa’s son.
‘Amit Shah did not meet me’
Eshwarappa has said that Yediyurappa has betrayed him. He also appointed another son of Yediyurappa, B.Y. Has also vowed to remove Vijayendra from the post of Karnataka BJP President. Eshwarappa had announced that he would file his nomination on April 12. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had personally spoken to him over phone during his visit to Bengaluru. Eshwarappa had said, ‘Home Minister Amit Shah did not meet me. His office told me he was unavailable. I believe this is a signal from them that I can go ahead with my decision to contest the elections as an independent candidate.
‘I am going to win the election as an independent’
Eshwarappa said, ‘If Amit Shah had asked me to withdraw my candidature as an independent candidate, I would have been forced to withdraw. I will contest the elections as an independent candidate. BJP is going to win all 27 seats except Shivamogga parliamentary constituency. There I will emerge victorious as an independent candidate. I will not feel good if I do not support Prime Minister Modi. After winning from Shivamogga, I will dedicate my victory to Prime Minister Modi. (IANS)
