Lucknow. Changing the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has changed the ticket of former state president Bhim Rajbhar. He will now contest Lok Sabha elections from Salempur instead of Azamgarh. At the same time, the party has nominated Irfan Ahmed (Bablu) from Bhadohi and innocent Kumar Dixit from Hamirpur. Apart from this, this time he has also declared a candidate in the assembly by-election.
On Wednesday, BSP released the seventh list of candidates for two more Lok Sabha seats along with changing the candidate for one seat. Along with this, the party has so far declared authorized candidates on 66 seats. Among the candidates announced today, one is from Muslim community while one is from backward class and one is from Brahmin community.
Making important changes in its strategy, the party has also fielded candidates in the assembly by-elections. The party has given ticket to Sarvesh Chandra Mishra in the by-election to be held on Dadraul seat of Shahjahanpur. It is noteworthy that BSP has been avoiding fielding its candidates in the by-elections.
BSP has not fielded its candidates during all the by-elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly in the last several years. Thursday is the last day of nomination for Dadraul seat. Voting will take place on May 13.
