Lucknow . After the UP assembly elections, the BSP has many big challenges for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. Those seem to be very difficult to get through. The BSP needs to fix its weak links before entering the Lok Sabha elections.
The BSP has suffered the most in the recently held assembly elections. Its seats have come down, as well as the core voter is also visible, which can pose a challenge to the party in the future. Mayawati adopted the formula of social engineering of Muslims, Brahmins and Dalits in the assembly elections, which was rejected. The shifting of the Muslim vote is adding to their troubles. Because the entire vote bank of Muslim got shifted to the account of SP. This is a clear indication of the standing of the SP in the competition with the BJP. The graph of BSP has been continuously declining since 2007. The BSP did not get a single seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha. The performance of BSP in 2017 has been very poor.
The BSP, which contested all the 403 seats in the assembly of political pundits, won only one seat in the state. In several dozen seats, the party’s candidates could not even save their bail. A clarification was also presented by the party in this regard and it was pointed out that neither their social engineering could work nor Muslims paid any attention to the BSP. Muslims joined the SP and other castes also turned their backs on the BSP. Most of the BSP leaders switched over to the SP during the assembly elections. Because he is walking with respect, SP can become an alternative to BJP, not BSP. Apart from this, the vote which was angry with BJP also fell in the court of SP. In such a situation, Mayawati has to make a new place again. The results of the assembly are raising many questions on the organisation, existence and future.
A BSP leader said that the party has suffered a lot in this election. Neither the old formula of Dalit-Brahmin social engineering worked in the elections, nor did the Dalit-Muslim alliance seem to be successful. While the BSP gave about 88 tickets to this class to get Muslim votes, it still could not succeed. Muslims voted unilaterally for SP. The BSP chief himself has also accepted this point. This time, not only the seats of BSP have decreased further, but the support base has also decreased rapidly. In this election, the Dalit vote bank of BSP has also been deeply dented. Most of it has gone to the BJP. Some part cannot be denied to SP. The election results clearly show that now the Muslims have not come with the party, their Dalit votes have also been scattered. Most of the backward also shunned the party. In such a situation, the party will have to devise a new strategy.
Senior political analyst Rajiv Srivastava, who has been watching the politics of Uttar Pradesh for decades, says that in the Lok Sabha elections, the BSP has a big challenge to handle the Jatav vote. The Jatav vote also needs to be told that we are fighting the elections with a strong force. Otherwise there is a fear of it slipping. If you manage this vote bank, then attention has to be given to Muslims and other castes. You have to be an alternative before the BJP. Leadership after Mayawati has to be created. Akash Anand is less active in UP, more active in Rajasthan, Punjab and Andhra. The challenge is to meet you from your home in UP. It is very important to see this.
