During the internal examination of BA first year in Government Arts and Science College on Tuesday, there was a stir in the college throughout the day on Wednesday after two students were injured due to falling plaster of the ceiling. The college administration started the repairs after getting the inspection done by the LNV staff, while the NSUI has demonstrated in the college and demanded an investigation into the incident and an FIR against the culprits.
Around 11 in the morning, SDM city Rajesh Shukla, CSP Hemant Chauhan, LND SDO PK Rai along with Principal Dr. Sanjay Wate inspected the dilapidated roofed rooms of the college. Regarding the weakening and repair of the building, the SDO gave guidelines regarding the repair. After this room number 35 and 36 were closed.
EVMs in six rooms, trouble in conducting exams
The part of Sanskrit and social department in the college is closed due to dilapidation. Due to the petition in the court, the EVMs of the Lok Sabha elections are kept in six rooms. Now due to the closure of two rooms, there will be trouble in conducting the examination in the college. At present, temporary arrangements will be made for conducting the examination in Vivekananda Hall. It is known that due to the old age of the college building built in 1956, incidents of plaster falling in the rooms are happening every day. Rain water also gets accumulated due to the accumulation of garbage on the roof. Even more the building is getting weaker. Ten new additional rooms are currently being built.

NSUI closed the college gate, demanding FIR
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a sit-in by closing the college gate over the incident. On the arrival of SDM and CSP, the officials under the leadership of NSUI Ratlam Rural President Devendra Singh Sejawata demanded to register an FIR regarding the incident and take action against the guilty. During this, there was also a debate with the CSP officials. Later, a memorandum was given to SDM Shukla regarding the problems of the students. President Devendra Singh, while accusing the college administration of negligence and corruption, said that the office was renovated for Rs 50 lakh, which came for repair, but did not pay attention to the classroom building.
Manvendra Singh Lunera of NSUI demanded complete treatment of the injured students by the college administration. During this, college president Vikram Gurjar, Ravi Parmar, student chief Namrata Kunwar, Gopal Malviya, Sandeep Makwana, Rajpal Singh, Arbaaz Baig, Rahul Patidar Murli, Dinesh etc. student leaders were present.
ABVP will perform today
During the inspection, ABVP officials also reached and expressed their displeasure in front of SDM Shukla and Principal Vate for not being repaired. District coordinator Krishna Dindor said that on Thursday, a demonstration will be held in the college regarding the repair of dilapidated buildings and other problems.

At around two o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, 19-year-old Vishal son Chogalal, a 19-year-old student of village Berchha, had reached room number 36 to submit CCE. There, Narayan Lal Kataria, a student of Neemuch resident and currently living on rent in Ratlam, was also standing there. During this, Vishal’s head and Sangam’s hand were injured after falling plaster from the ceiling. Both the college staff and students were taken to the district hospital. Vishal was admitted to the hospital due to severe injury, which was discharged on Wednesday.
